Choosing The Camera For Wildlife Photograph
There is a common belief that skill plays the most vital role in photography. Rightly so; but the role of camera in wildlife photography shouldn't be underestimated. The camera must capture high-resolution image which will help to get in details of the images. The camera should be able to shoot objects at distance, and at the same time the image should be filled with wildlife subject.
The image must be bright in compact light conditions of late evening or early morning. Finally, shutter speed should be high enough to freeze raid action.
Zoom: Zooming is the characteristic of lens not of the camera which is used to capture close-up images. A single lens won't be used for all type of shots, so the best camera is that which has the facility of interchangeable lenses. There are some fixed-lens digital cameras which feature super-zoom which works best in case of wildlife photography.
Image Quality: Quality of image is determined by resolution of the sensor size and the camera. Camera with 10 megapixels resolution is good enough for enlargement, and binds with large sensor size to decrease noise and give better images.
Low light images: Camera should be such that it must capture good images even in low light. It depends on lens and the speed of the camera in ISO for shooting good picture in low light conditions. Lenses with aperture of at least f2.8 are required for low light.
Action shots: Freeze shots are the key feature of wildlife photography. To freeze the motion of the animal, shutter speed of the camera must be fast. It will help in shooting multiple rapid shots one after another.
