Wedding Photography

wedding-photographyWedding day is the most important days of couple's life together and are captured by the photos to treasure forever. To make the occasion memorable, requires preparation and professionalism. Hiring a professional photographer is not always an option for the couples with tight budget. They choose an option of calling a close friend to capture the photos of the big day.

Purchasing a camera and using many of the angles and shots on which the professionals rely can make an amateur to capture some really intriguing photographs. Technical skill, planning and creativity will create an ideal collection of bride and groom's wedding photos.

Here are some tips which will help you to photograph a wedding like a professional photographer

  1. Try to provide an engagement shoot with the couple to practice photographing them. An engagement shoot will help you to find out what type of lighting and angles work well and will help you to experiment new techniques using the couple you have to photograph at the wedding.
  2. Sit down with the couple and make a list of which styles and angles they like. Get their feedback on what types of photos to be avoided. For example, the couple may enjoy candid shots rather than over posed photos. Make a list of must-have shots for the couple's wedding day which can include photos of the bride getting ready, wedding party and couple leaving the reception.
  3. Visit the locations on which you have to photograph the couple. It is really helpful to let you know where you are going. Spot some positions for the shot and find out how the light might come into play.
  4. Prepare well before going to shoot a wedding. Have memory cards blank, batteries charged and in case of bad weather, a backup plan. Think about the time and the routes to get to places and get an itinerary of the whole day. If possible, attend the rehearsal of the ceremony where you can get a lot of information about the positions to shoot, order of the ceremony, the lighting etc.
  5. Shoot the smallest details. Photograph dresses backs, rings, shoes, flowers, menus, table settings etc. This will help the album look more attractive. Go through a wedding magazine for a little inspiration.
  6. Photograph pre-wedding parties as you can. Review the shots you took at those parties and find out what worked best. A group of friends laughing over the drinks, a couple talking at table and the dancing of bride's grandparents at the party can be the opportunities you will want to capture on the wedding day.
  7. Make necessary changes by reviewing the wedding photos using computer software such as Photo Shop. It is often essential to crop the photos. Find out which photo looks best in black and white and which look best in color. Dump the unnecessary photos.

To be professional wedding photographer requires a knowledge and talent. These wedding photography tips will help you to achieve great results while photographing a wedding.
