Aerial Photography

aerial-photographyAerial photography put into words rejuvenates perceptions of landscape photography. It is capturing the photographs of the land from a higher position. In this type the camera does not support the ground-based level type of photography. Aerial photography has become a prominent commercial skill even today.

Aerial photography has peculiar series of style and patterns of the subject when you are shooting vertically downwards to make an abstract and extraordinary image. There are few patterns which are unseen from the ground level which look more bounced and blown up from the view of aerial photograph.

In aerial photography light plays a significant role which helps in making each photograph more eye-catching and distinguishes good photograph from the excellent aerial photographs. For aerial photographs, a sunny day is the most appropriate option. Over cast days are mostly avoided in this kind of photography as the contrast of the lights is higher. When the sun is directly above it gives an even and bright lighting, more apparent for vertically downward view, but again this doesn’t go well with oblique view. For more good-looking and pictorial view, early morning and evenings are proffered as the sun is low at that time and hence gives more serene and defined image.

In Aerial photography shooting angles are important. normal flights will allow diagonal angle shooting which can be shallow. For the strong aerial graphic shots, direct overhead view can be the best and for the close view, steeper shooting angle works better. You can use the fixed-wing aircraft to do this in three different ways. Firstly the pilot can turn the aircraft in sideways near to the subject, reducing the garrote to reduce the vibration, or to fly in a taut circle over the subject or the pilot can bank the aircraft so that you get few seconds to do the shoot.

On the ground, the focal lengths give diverse image. Wide angles lens with less haze effect can be good for all kinds of images. Focal length of 50mm are standard and will be enough useful whereas a telephoto can be also used for capturing small subjects such as flock of birds. Always keep the aperture wide open and put the maximum shutter speed that can be 1/250 sec; this helps avoiding the camera shake.

Aerial photography gives more scenic view which can be difficult to gather from the ground-level.
