Famous Photographer - Ansel Adams

ansel-adamsAnsel Adams is the sovereign of landscape and nature photography. His work and art has always been the intensity of genius as he always nurtured nature. He was born in San Francisco in the year 1920.
Ansel Adams visited Yosemite national park for the first time with his parents, where his father gifted him with the first camera of his life, Kodak brownie box camera, where he took his first photographs.

From here his pictorial journey started with his camera. He then started visiting Yosemite national park on his own with improved camera and tripods. He decided of making career in photography and started learning more about the camera and photography and ardently read the photography magazines, visited the art museums and photography exhibitions. He skilled himself and started practicing the dark room techniques. He worked part time under many San Francisco's photo finishers.

In 1927, Adams had his first portfolio which included the Face of Half Dome and the Monolith taken with his Corona view camera using a dark red filter and after a couple of years his second portfolio Taos Pueblo came which was published with the text by the writer Mary Hunter Austin. Leafing through the years, Adams work flourished and came in prime. In his 60 years career, 1930 was the most prolific and established year for him.

Adams expanded his creativity with exploring more landscapes and clicked various nature heritages. Photographer Ansel Adams has received many awards throughout his lifetime and many rewards have his name. Adams has received Doctorate of arts from the Yale and Harvard universities. In 1963, he got Sierra Club John Muir Award. In 1968, he was rewarded with the Conservation Service Award by the Department of Interior. In 1971 there was an award by the Sierra Club, The Ansel Adams Award for Conservation Photography, and in 1980 the Wilderness society established an award named Ansel Adams Award for Conservation.

Adams has written many books like the Ansel Adams: Classic images, the Yosemite, America's Wilderness, Born free and equal and many more. His technical books included Making a photograph, The camera, Natural Light Photography, The print and many which inspired several fresh photographers and helped them in developing photography skills more professionally.
